For as long as I can remember I have been inspired by human potential and had a strong desire to help people and make a difference in their lives. I am therefore incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to do the work I do. It is a big part of what makes me ‘come alive’!
Everything I have experienced in life has led me to this work. I’ve experienced a lot in the business world as an employee and business owner. I’ve been a part of inspired teams and amazing bosses and I’ve also experienced the toxicity that can come from organizational politics. I’ve worked at the best companies with the best leaders and I’ve also experienced the disengagement of working for a challenging boss. I’ve experienced the joy of personal achievement and connected relationships and I’ve also felt the pain that comes from deep disappointment and loss.
The lessons learned from all of these experiences have made me who I am today – compassionate, still a learner and not quite enlightened…yet! Through these experiences, as well as coaching and training great people, I have come to understand the value of using every challenge as a catalyst to grow and evolve into a more conscious human being. This awareness has allowed me to elevate my own life and begin to do my part in elevating the world around me.
There are so many important and positive shifts when we work to evolve our personal consciousness. We begin to honour our deepest values and focus on the things that truly make us come alive. We elevate our choices and behaviour. We become authentic. We take better care of ourselves. We communicate in ways that are loving not adversarial. We lead with curiosity instead of judgment. We question our fears and have the courage to set them down. We pay attention to the things that matter and become part of the solution rather than part of the problem. We improve the overall quality of our lives. And all of this has a profound ripple effect on our families, our organizations and the world around us.
So, as the quote above says, ‘Ask what makes you come alive and then go do it’. For you, this might mean going back to school… or becoming a CEO… or writing your first song… or being more present with your children… or making an amend…or rescuing a street dog… or hiking deep in the forest. Whatever it is, I encourage you to get out and do it! And I promise to do the same. As well, I will continue to provide you with practical tools and strategies, empowering conversations, challenging questions and helpful resources that will inspire you to manifest your greatness!
